Cullinane

Dr. John Cullinane, Jr., a 1969 BSCE graduate, was named deputy director at the US Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC). By becoming the new deputy director, Dr. Cullinane has also been appointed as a member of the Senior Executive Service (SES).

Dr. Cullinane will assist in managing seven laboratories, more than 2,500 employees, facilities, and ERDC’s annual research program. He will be stationed at ERDC’s headquarters in Vicksburg, MS.

Dr. Cullinane takes the new position after serving as a senior science technical manager and having spent nine years as the lead technical director for the Environmental Quality/Installations business area. He has authored numerous publications in environmental engineering and has served on multiple federal and academic advisory committees and boards. He has served as a consultant to the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the Department of the Navy and the Department of Justice.

ERDC is the premier research and development facility for the US Army Corps of Engineers and has been named the Army Research Laboratory of the Year for three years in a row, and for five of the past eight years.
