2010 Hall of Fame

Eight students were inducted into the 2010 Bagley College of Engineering Student Hall of Fame in April. Two of the eight students were civil engineering students.

Stephen Dix, a May 2010 graduate from Gulfport, MS, was involved in many activities while enrolled at MSU. Stephen was involved in Tau Beta Pi and Chi Epsilon, both student honor societies. He was also involved in activities such as rock climbing, ballroom dancing, and the Engineering Week student competitions.

Stephen served as president of the Bulldog Toastmasters Club and served as captain of the American Society of Civil Engineers concrete canoe team. He has been involved in civil engineering work at Knesal Engineering Services, Inc., ConocoPhillips and Burner Dynamics, Inc.

 

Jennifer Sloan, a May 2010 graduate from Sturgis, MS, served as vice president of the Institute of Transportation Engineers student organization, and as president of the Engineering Student Council. Jennifer was a Bagley College of Engineering Ambassador and served as the undergraduate representative for the college at MSU President Mark Keenum’s investiture ceremony. She also spent time in Washington, DC as a congressional intern.

Jennifer worked as a counselor for several engineering summer camps, serving as a role model for young students interest in engineering. She also performed water resources research in the department and served as a research assistant for other environmentally-oriented endeavors, including the protection of the public in events of environmental disastor. She also served as a mentor to the children’s ministry at New Horizons Christian Fellowship.
